IOUG Board of Directors Call for Candidates

It’s time, once again, for the annual call for candidates for the IOUG Board of Directors elections! All members of the IOUG are eligible to run for the Board of Directors. The directors elected will serve a two-year term, beginning on May 28, 2012.

As a member of the IOUG, you have seen the benefits of participating in a users group. Managing a users group, however, affords you another level of professional and personal benefit. As a member of the IOUG Board of Directors, you have an incredible opportunity to become a peer leader and positively affect the future of this organization. In addition, you will have access to Oracle’s senior management.

The management of the IOUG is no small task. We need dedicated, energetic leaders who are capable of leading this large organization. A Board Member ideally has at least one year of volunteer experience with the IOUG. If you believe in the IOUG values of delivering quality information, education, networking and advocacy, I encourage you to explore this opportunity and put your vision for the future of the IOUG in motion. Please find the candidate profile, which outlines some of the qualities that an ideal candidate would possess.

If you are interested in being a candidate, please complete the application. The deadline for submitting your application for candidacy is Monday, February 13, 2012. Please submit through one of the following:

  • E-mail the application as an attachment toioug@ioug.org
  • Fax the application to IOUG Headquarters at+1.312.673.6955
  • Mail the application to the following address:

IOUG Headquarters
ATTN: Board of Directors Candidates
401 North Michigan Ave, Suite 2200

Applicants will be interviewed by the Election Committee in February and the slate of candidates will be announced on the web site in early March 2012. The election will take place March 1 – March 19, 2012.

If you would like more information on the responsibilities and obligations of becoming a board member, please call the IOUG Headquarters at +1.312.245.1579. Headquarters staff can also refer you to a current board member who will answer additional questions. Also, feel free to e-mail me if you wish to discuss this opportunity.

Thank you for your participation in the IOUG.

Sincerely,
Andy Flower

IOUG Elections Committee Chair
